We are very fortunate to have a museum in our backyard of the caliber of The Works.
Embracing the vision of founder Howard LeFevre, The Works has expanded from its initial industrial focus to a celebration of all aspects of life in Licking County.
Visitors can marvel at the mastadon skull hanging over the stairwell, visit the Land of Legend Shops, or learn about principles of science at one of their many hands-on educational exhibits.
One of the most fascinating displays is the Works Glass Studio where visitors can see where art and science come together in the creation of original works of blown glass.
The Works has very generously provided us with an opportunity for one lucky bidder and 3 guests to visit the museum and experience all of their wonderful offerings. Included in this package is a hand-blown glass vase.
The Works is located at the corner of First and Scheidler in downtown Newark.

Our Sponsors Are Measurably Different
We learned this week that Licking Memorial Health Systems has joined the ranks of sponsors for this year's auction.
Licking Memorial continues to be a generous supporter of Mental Health America and many other community organizations in Licking County.
We are grateful for their sponsorship, but more so for their partnership in working for the wellness of all our friends and neighbors.

Auction Planning Underway
The letters are in the mail and, surprisingly, some have already yielded donations for Mental Health America of Licking County's 12th Annual Java & Jazz benefit auction.
Each year, we scour Licking County and beyond looking for unusual items for our Auction guests to purchase. This year, we are trying something new: as items come in, we will be listing them here so that our guests can have a sense of what to expect when March 5th comes around.
That doesn't mean that we will be putting all our cards on the table--we have to have some surprises--but we hope we can make it that much easier for you to come to the event.
This is our most important fundraiser of the year. Proceeds from this event help to support the Agency's 8 programs and fill in the gaps created by our challenging economic environment.
Mental Health America of Licking County has been honored to serve this county and its people for 57 years and , through efforts such as this, we hope to be around for many years to come.
Thank you.
